Adulthood Stinks!

I don't want to be the lego piece finder. I want to be the one who puts the legos together! Sometimes being the adult stinks. I have always loved doing legos, when I was little we had a shoe box size box of legos. My boys have a huge rubbermaid box full, Jordan got a new Star Wars set from Santa (575 pieces) and I get to help him build it. It takes all my self control not to build it myself, to find the pieces and make sure he puts them in the right spots. So, today I say I am a good mom because I am the lego piece finder!

Prancer

When we were opening presents from my brother's family, I said "that's from Taylor, Hunter, Conner and Trevor" then Dylan said "and Prancer."

So if they need name ideas for their next kid!

Still Christmas Morning

The kids and I got Alex a new watch. Everywhere we went on the cruise Alex kept asking me if I saw any watches I liked for him and I kept hoping he wouldn't find one he liked!

Kendall hugged all her presents.

Spiderman!

Crissy spent the night so she could open presents with us in the morning. She helped me lots with making dinner too!

This is one of the gifts my parents gave to us. It made us laugh REALLY hard. They might be starting to get old - I'm not sure!

We had Leslie, Greg, Andrew and David over for dinner, plus some friends, so we had a big feast and a full house. I had fun, it was a pretty wonderful Christmas. I feel very blessed this holiday season!

Christmas Morning

Dylan got a rip stick from Santa, but he thought it would be to hard so we had to take it back today and get a regular skate board, somehow Jordan talked me into getting him one too. Man, I'm a sucker!

Star Wars legos for Jordan

Kendall got a cabage patch doll, but I thought this picture was so funny!

Hayden also got a skate board from Santa. And lots of Lighting McQueen's from Nana and Grandma Henry.

My mama got me a little vacum cleaner! I almost bought myself a dustbuster, but I never got a chance, I'm glad I didn't. This little Dyson is very cool. Jordan likes it almost as much as I do! I'm not one of those women who don't enjoy a good cleaning product as a gift. Alex got me a ipod dock. I was calling it a radio for my ipod and my sister got mad at me, it is called an ipod dock. I love it I've had it on all day, it doesn't have to be plugged into the wall so I can move it around the house with me.

Christmas Eve

I made all the boys Christmas pants. David and Andrew's are extra-long!

Christmas Kendall.

Cookies for Santa

We found the time to make cookies! I love making sugar cookies with the boys (we had an extra neighbor kid to help us)!

The boys are getting much better at decorating the cookies. Jordan actually did quite a few this year. Dylan was still pretty slow, plus he was biting m&m's in half to decorate his. I warned everyone not to eat those ones!

Holy cookies, batman!!

What we came home to...

We came home to a couple surpizes! The first one was that while we were gone a refrigerated package was supposed to arrive and my sister was here feeding the cats, she wasn't sure what things in the package needed to be refrigerated so she put all the presents in package in the fridge! Turns out that was not the package that needed to be refrigerated!

The second was that we had no water. We had to have some valve in the front yard replaced a couple weeks ago and early in the week it sprung a leak and water was shooting out of it flooding into the street. Luckily we have very kind neighbors who shut our water off for us. But this created a problem when Crissy came to feed the cats, she didn't know why we had no water and she couldn't fill up the cats' water bowl so she filled the bowl with ice from the freezer. Poor cats!

It's good to know things aren't even boring at our house when we're gone!

Cruise 3

The Christmas tree in Cozumel, there was a nativity scene inside of it.

The police have Segways. Nice. They can't spell bench but they've got a Segway.

This guy had some snakes and a little monkey by some shops. He said for $10 he would let us take a picture, I took a couple pictures anyway!

"Watch out there's a shark!"

You've got to love the towel animals!

Cruise 2

Arrr matey! There are fake pirates all over the place in Grand Cayman, and a pirate boat in the bay. Alex, Hayden, Kendall and I went to the beach in Grand Cayman, the big boys went with Grandma and Grandpa to Hell. Jordan sent us a post card from Hell.

I am either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid for posting this picture.

Hayden and Daddy tried to rent a paddle boat, but by the time they came and told me and went back to get it all the boats were gone.

This is all the boys in Cozumel.

They need some work on their english spelling.

Cruise 1

Almost all of us!

Such a diva! Hanging at the pool on the ship, the first two days it was cold but Dylan stayed in the hot tub all day anyway (which wasn't all that hot!)

This bird guy was at Magaritaville in Jamacia. Hayden looks like he liked him, right?

Jamacian Jordan. Yeah mon, no problem.

Kendall's Birthday Pics

Its a girl!! Kendall finally has babies to play with! She got some very pretty dresses and a My Little Pony too. She ate that whole piece of cake - she definitely takes after her Mama.

Santa on the Fire Truck

The Bulverde Fire Department cruises the neighborhoods with Santa every year!

The boys were looking forward to it all day!

The Jackie Show - Episode 3

I have been on vacation, I hope you all found something to fill your time while my show was on a break!

My new friend Kemille described one of my good friends as "the sweet one with the great hair." So I was thinking how each of my friends would be described. Here are a few for you to try to figure out: (make that one #1)

2. (I'll start with an easy one) The blonde one with the black babies.

3. The tall skinny one, that looks mad all the time.

4. The one with the cute little boy with glasses.

5. The chubby one with the naughty blonde boy and a touch of OCD.

Add your guesses to the comments and if you have any to add please do!

Hayden's New Shoes!

This boy is so silly! I try not to ask why he does the things he does.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Birthday Girl

I am sure I won't have time to do this tomorrow on Kendall's birthday so I am doing it now. I can't believe my baby is 1! That year went so fast.

Yesterday, I took Hayden and Kendall to get pictures taken. Hayden didn't want any part of it. I had to trick him into sitting in the chair by telling him he could not sit there. It only worked once, we got a few shots of him, then I snuck Kendall in next to him. Kendall is a ham and smiled in many different poses which makes it very difficult to narrow down the ones to buy. This second picture is her in the dress I bought her for her birthday. I wrapped it today, seems silly but oh well. I wanted to take the big boys too but they didn't have any appointments after school this week. One of these days we will have to take the whole family for pictures.

So, this is Kendall at 1 years old:

1. She is STILL a Mama's girl! (I'm sure she will go to the dark side (Dad) soon but I will love it while I can)

2. She loves her brothers! She just likes to hang out where ever they are.

3. She is a FABULOUS sleeper.

4. She loves to get the cats, she grabs them, rolls over on them and squeals (sometimes she tries to put them in her mouth).

5. She loves to play with matchbox cars. We got her some babies for her birthday, we'll see what she prefers.

And finally, I can't imagine life without her. Sometimes Heavenly Father gives us surprises we don't count on that turn out to be the most wonderful blessings you could imagine. That is how I would describe Kendall!

The Jackie Show - episode 2

If I had super powers I would have germ/mess seeking laser vision. Like a seek and destroy type thing. I would wear my super suit under my clothes all the time and it would be made of that spanks material (solid not sheer) so it would suck everything in. I'm not sure what color it would be, I think it would have to be white with some pink accents, I would rather it be all pink but white goes better with the super-cleaning powers theme. I haven't worked out a name yet either, I have a few options so far: Hygeine-Hottie, Super-Sanitizer or Disinfecting Diva.

I could scan the playground and destroy all the germs before my kids went to play, I would also be gentle enough for hands, snotty noses, dirty bums, with one squint of my eyes all would be clean. I would be SO popular! But I guess in keeping with super hero traditions, I could not tell my friends about my super powers, I would still secretly laser-clean while they were looking away.

Anyone up for sidekick duty? Maybe Laundry-Lady or Carwash Woman?

Snow

Tracie's snow post reminded me of of something. When Dylan was 3 or 4 we lived in Lajitas and when we were in AZ visiting my parents, we went to Flagstaff to see my cousin and it had snowed a lot, Dylan got out of the car looked at the snow and said "can I touch it?" It was so funny to see him try to figure out what this stuff was!

The Jackie Show

Alex was watching basketball while I was folding laundry tonight and when most sports are on, I go into my own little world.

Tonight somehow I got thinking about if I had my own show, what would I talk about? Then I thought that I could blog my "show" in my head. It would be a mixture of Oprah and Ellen, I like the monolog and the funny pictures, but I also enjoy the really juicey topics that are creapy or bizarre and have absolutely nothing to do with my life. But just in case one of my sons has an affair with his high school teacher, I should know what to do. Or should my husband decide after being married to me for 20 years that he was gay and has been on the down-low for our entire life together, or my boy thinks he is a girl... you get the point.

So my first show will be "My Favorite Things" unfortunately I have no give-aways for my audience today. I figure 10 is a good number to start with, I encourage each of you to make your own favorite things list!

10. Olay moisturizing body wash with lotion ribbons, the purple one. On days that are not super dry, you really don't need extra lotion.

9. Rachel Ray cook books. The one I have is 365 no repeats, everything I have tried out of it is awsome!

8. The plug in scented oil things from Bath and Body Works, I like so many of the scents but my new fav is creamy caramel.

7. Close to my heart stamps, I am addicted!

6. Clorox wipes.

5. my ipod, I just have the little shuffle, but when I need a break from my kids for a little bit, it gives me such a pick up.

4. Justin Timberlake, not really mine but I LOVE him.

3. Candles, Butt Naked is my all time favorite and my newest one Silver Bells is following just shortly behind.

2. Blogging.

1. My washer and dryer. I love them. I love them. A lot. I love them a lot!

Thanks for joining my program today. I hope you enjoyed my "show", tune in for my next show, "When your best friend's dinosaur has an affair with a flamingo from your office"

Bing-Bing

For some reason when I was growing up we would tease my sister about green beans. My brother and I called them bing-bings and we would wave them in her face. I have no idea how or why this started.
I used to call Kendall string bean (for obvious reasons!) all the time and now it has evolved into bing-bing.

Better than Lasagna

Tonight for dinner I "made" cheddar potato soup. I use the bear creek mix and add some diced potatoes. Dylan had thirds! He said it was "better than lasagna."

Rotten Kids

Are anyone else's kids oozing naughtiness right now? I hope it is just the excitement of the upcoming cruise and holidays and not another rotten phase! My older boys couldn't be nice to each other if their lives depended on it. Jordan did something to Dylan this morning and then gave him a dollar so he would forgive him, then when Jordan got in trouble from me, he took his dollar back. As you can imagine this did not sit well with Dylan.

Luckily, I seem to be able to talk so far today and I will be able to be mean again. It is very difficult to be stern and disipline children when you can't talk. It is hard to wisper angry, you have to point alot and make faces to get your point across. I also had to find other ways of getting their attention, snapping, clapping, throwing things at them, punching, kicking... oh wait I've gone too far. Hayden was the worst, every time I said something to him, he said "Huh?" It made me want to scream, but of course I could not scream!

Not being able to talk has given me a chance to catch up on my blog, I needed to get some words out somehow! Aren't you all lucky?!

Holy Bows Batman

Sorry, Hayden was watching batman this morning while I finished all these bows!

Ornament

What's wrong with this picture?

The kitty loves the shiny balls. I keep finding them all over the house. I keep having to fluff up the branches where she has been in the tree. When she does something she's not supposed to I spray her with a water bottle. Usually, it only takes one squirt to get her to stop. Yesterday, I had to squirt her like 5 times before she would get out of the tree. I guess she really likes it in there!

Dog Pile

Crissy came over yesterday to help me put up her tree. I keep saying I am going to buy a tree after Christmas when they are cheep, this year I really will. Crissy said she didn't have room in her apartment to put hers up so, we are borrowing it again.

Crissy taught the boys the art of the dog pile, then they tried it out on us. Good plan, Crissy! My legs we in such an odd position, I can't believe my pants didn't rip.
