Moving on...

Moving on... I think it is getting better. I guess if it is a little better now, in a couple more weeks, it should be even better and eventually I will have put it behind me. Is that how it is supposed to work? Is that what it means when they say time heals?

Monday was very hard. It was the first time I was home with just myself and the little kids. Before that I had to be strong and not show the big boys that I was scared, so they wouldn't be scared. But Monday I didn't have to be strong, I didn't have to pretend. Today is Friday and I am not as scared as I was Monday.

I wish I could pretend it didn't happen and just forget about it, but that doesn't help either. I am so thankful for the people who have checked on me and let me talk about how I feel and told me they love me. It has helped!

Silly Little Pigs

Here are pictures of my pigtale experiment. Do they look silly or are they ok?

Wacky tip of the day

You can use a wood paint stirrer as an ice scraper.

River Parade

On Friday evening we went downtown for the river parade. Alex's hotel reserved a meeting room for employees and their friends to watch. I really wanted a picture of Hayden and Tyson, but as Tracie says he won't look at the camera! So here's a picture of Meg, Hayden and the back of Tyson's head!

Kendall was having a great time playing with the chopsticks at dinner! I still don't know why we buy toys.

I think this says it all! Time for bed.

bonkers

This is driving me bonkers! I can't figure out how to make the picture and the words not on the same line!!! Do what I say darn computer!

A Picture of Love

Oh my heavens! This girl is just too sweet! I can't believe how big she is. I realized yesterday that she might have enough hair for two little pigs. I will try it today.

Makin' Breakfast

This is Hayden's breakfast song and dance.

We've been hit!

Hayden was hit with the stomache bug that's been going around. So far no one else in the house has caught it, but really it's just a matter of time!

What Little Brothers are Good For

Last week Jordan and Hayden were playing in the backyard. After the forth or fifth time Hayden went in and out of the house I decided to see what they were up to...
Jordan made Hayden bring him all this stuff and some snacks!

zippity ZOO dah

We (and by we I mean Hayden, Kendall and I, sadly the big boys had school) went to the San Antonio Zoo. We have lived here for 2 years and this was our first trip. I think the big boys have been with Grandma, but it was a first for us. I don't think Hayden has ever been to a zoo before, definitely not Kendall.
Kendall got to share a stroller with Lilly while Hayden and Grace rode in the wagon. I am not the best wagon driver, I hope Grace didn't get too many owies from riding with me. The exit turnstile is certainly not meant for wagons.
There was a little prairie dog tunnel the kids can climb in, Hayden went in and wouldn't come out so I had to squeeze in there to get him, I was really scared that my tush would get stuck and I'd be trapped like pooh bear (if that happened, I'm sure I could have counted on my friends to decorate my hind end)! All the people standing around seemed to enjoy watching me climb in there! The picture of Kendall is at the begining of the tunnel.
Hayden loved the goats and the goats loved me. When I was getting food for them they all squished around me, one even stuck it's head through my legs, horns and all.
Kendall was out as soon as we got in the car. She was such a happy girl at the zoo, it probably reminded her of home!
Thanks for a fun day at the zoo ladies and kiddos!

News Flash: Spiderman swings baby!

Kendall had her first swing on the big swing. Spiderman (Dylan, still wearing his Halloween costume)was there just in case things got out of hand. She wasn't so sure about swinging when Hayden was pushing her. We had to put her in the swing backwards so she wouldn't fall out.

week in pictures

I had to put Kendall in the walker so that she wouldn't terrorize Lilly.

Grace and Hayden doing a duet.

Hayden was helping me with dinner, he looks helpful, doesn't he?
Jordan got two awards for the first 9 weeks of school, perfect attendance and A-B honor roll!

Playing Piano

I love the sound of piano practice at my house. They are actually starting to play songs that sound like songs. It takes bribery and there's a lot of complaining but I still love it!
Hayden doesn't take lessons but he practices anyway!

Halloween at The White House

Kendall really liked chewing on the Jack-o-lantern lid. The pumpkin on the right is Jordan's he carved the face all by himself (I had to take the guts out - the boys won't touch them), the one on the left Dylan and I carved and the one in the middle is mine.
We had lots of fun trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and then we went to another neighborhood to go with some friends, some houses were giving away whole candybars. Score! It was such a nice night, not too hot, not too cold, it was just right! I remember when we lived in Salt Lake and it was always so cold on Halloween, one time it rained the whole time we were trick-or-treating (not so much fun).

Lil' Party

Tiffany threw a Halloween Party for the lil' ones. I was so impressed, she had activities for them and yummy food for them and for the moms. We had lots of fun! Tracie brought white chocolate popcorn, it was so good, I can't stop thinking about it. I bought some stuff today so I can make my own. Alex thinks it sounds gross, we'll have to see if he likes it or not.
Kendall and Lilly were both princesses. Kendall really liked Lilly's crown! But then she likes anything that Lilly has!

I feel good, na, na, na, na, na

When I was growing up, if I got a new pair of shoes or a hair cut, my grandma would say to me "nothing makes you feel like a new pair of shoes" or "nothing makes you feel like a new hair cut." Tonight I say "nothing makes you feel like a girls night out!"

Family Fun

It's really a wonder that my kids don't get hurt more often! This is what occupied our kids time on Sunday evening. I have no further explaination for this.
