Halloween Party

Here are pictures from the Halloween party on Satuday. I had so much fun. I was a cat lady and my costume was super ugly, but perfect. I should have gottten a better picture, but I forgot. Alex was very daring with his costume this year, a football coach. I loved Trooly and Mike's sumo costumes, they were too funny! M.K. and Alex were by far the best dressed, I can't wait to see what they do next year. And of course a huge shout out to Wendy and Bron for throwing a wicked-awsome party, thanks guys (did anyone see Wendy doing the cheerleader kicks? Very nice!).

Sickos

My babies are sick. Kendall had a really high fever on Saturday, I took her to the Dr. this morning and she has double ear infections, again. The Dr. said one more time and she will need to see the ENT. Since we are just getting into the sick season, I have a feeling we are going down the tubes road, again. Dylan had tubes when he was about 6 months old and then again last spring. Although once they have tubes, it makes life so much easier. Hayden has a fever today, so who knows what he's got brewing! It seems like someone in our house is always sick on Halloween.

Also, I am so excited about Friday! 4 more days!

Crying baby - I'm out!

One more thing

Oh ya, there was something else I wanted to blog about, even though it is super lame! I only got out one time last night playing church softball, I even scored!! I am quite proud because I used to be a pretty decent ball player, but it has been like 8 years since I've played and unfortunately it seems to take time to get it back!

Ok, I am officially made up for my blog slackerness! Thanks for the push ladies!

Bouncing Bed & Big Baby

Audrey, Grace and Hayden climed into Kendall's crib to jump, jump, jump!
Kendall likes to look out the windows and "help" clean out the dishwasher. She is getting so big so fast. At 10 months old she weighs 16 lbs. and is 28 3/4 inches long. Her dr. switched her to a special formula that helps her not spit up so much and has us adding butter to all her meals to help her gain some weight. Seems to be working ,she gained 1 lb in 2 weeks!

We went to Six Flags on Saturday, it was so busy and crazy! Jordan loves the scary rides, Dylan saw some scary monsters, Hayden cried the whole time we were on the merry-go-round, and Kendall loved the super-dumb scarecrow show!

Backyard Baseball Tag

Hit the ball, run around the playset, through the tree, behind the trampoline, and head for home plate! Just hope you don't get tagged by the ball first! (we use wiffle balls) Hayden turned it into tackle baseball the other night.

9 days of slacking

It was brought to my attention that I have not updated my blog since the 15th, I apologize for the blog slackerness! Sometimes I think that nothing interesting enough to write about happens in my life, then there are times when I'd rather not think about what happened in my day.

I recieved an e-mail title Motherhood Invisibility, one unnamed friend said it made her cry, it is very good. It is about how as mothers no one really recognizes what we do and compares being a mother to building a cathedral. I have had this e-mail sitting in my inbox for about a week and had not read it until this morning which I am very glad for because yesterday, I went to the doctor and the doctor said that I had alot of stressers in my life. She didn't say it directly, but I knew she meant my children. I know there are alot of people who think that having 4 children is crazy and yes, sometimes it is. Ok alot of the time it is, but I can't imagine my life any other way.

Sherri Dew has a book called "If life were easy it wouldn't be hard". If I chose a different path, I would still have obsticals and trials. They would be different, but can someone who has 1 or 2 children or no children tell me that there lives are easy and they don't have problems? No. Everyone is given challanges, otherwise we wouldn't grow and learn and become better people. My challanges are mainly my kids, but I promise you I am a better mother today than I was a year ago and I will be a better mother next year than I am today.

In one of the conference talks the speaker talked about seeing the good in life and how if you focus on the good, you see more good. I feel the same way about doing. If you do good, you will want to do more good whether it is good for your family, service, being a good friend, a good wife, neighbor, baker, or candlestick maker. It is in our nature to try to do it better the next time!

I am greatful for my "stressers"! I love them all and I love that they have helped me become a better person and that I have been able to help them become the people that they are. I always thought that the kids would be easier as they got older, now I realize that this is where the real work is. Teaching morals and good character to children in this world is no easy task, slack off ever so slightly and you have made 10 times more work for yourself. I am so blessed that I have a wonderful partner in my stress, I couldn't do it without him.

Ok, have rambled on enough to make-up for my blog slackerness? The moral of my story... it's not easy but it's worth it!

Dollar Store

The other day I bought foam swords at the dollar store for my boys. Yesterday I heard Dylan tell his friend "my mom bought these at the bank". Bank - dollar store, so funny!

Rotten Potato

One day a very long time ago my mom told me that a rotten potato was one of the worst messes to have and that once I had one I would understand. For those of you have not had a rotten potato, it is an experience you won't forget.

One lone potato escapes its prison bag and rolls to the back of the pantry. One day you notice a smell, as the days pass it gets worse and you can't find the source of the smell. Finally, you remove everything from the pantry floor until you find the awful, sloppy, horror that is the rotten potato. You clean it up, but you can't get the smell out of your head as the days pass you think you must be imagining the smell. You're not. So you go to clean it again and find that some of the nasty goop had seeped onto a box nearby and you clean it and dispose of the box and yet you still imagine the smell is there. Then weeks will go by and yet again you will catch a faint wiff of the smell, so again you go through the pantry, you take out all the boxes and yes there is one small corner of a box that was missed. And again you clean it up. And even when you know that it is clean and the mess is gone and it is not possible for you to smell that horrible scent, somedays you still think you can. It sneeks up on you when you know your house is clean and you've been cleaning all day and the house smells of wonderful clean smells.

I have a rotten potato in my life. I've cleaned it up, I've done the work and I think its gone. Life is so good is has to be gone. Most days I feel satisfied and even blissful, but then one day I get a wiff of that rotten potato that has been gone for so long and I catch a wiff of it for a few days and then one day I open that pantry and it is like the potato snuck back in and can't be cleaned up. And it follows me and sometimes I can't smell it, but if I take a moment to breath, it is there haunting me, teasing me with its relentless goo, stuck to me like glue. I can't get rid of it, why did it come back? It should be gone, why isn't it gone yet? I'm sure it will go away again, it always does. I just wish it would stay away for good. I'm tired of it sneaking into my life and dragging me down.

There are wonderful scents all around me, but all I can smell is the potato. I can pretend to smell them, I can want to smell them, but I can't really smell them.

I love being a girl!

I love being a girl because you get to have girlfriends! And I must say that I have the most fabulous girlfriends. Whenever I spend any amount of time with them (even just talking on the phone) it makes my day so much brighter and I feel better about myself and my job as a mom and wife. I find that even when we are just venting about life's frustrations we build each other up and encourage, and understand each other. Girlfriends feel each others happiness, sorrows and worries.

I am constantly surrounded by women who are strong, faithful, beautiful (inside and out), couragous, incredibly resiliant, loving, giving, and joyful. I know that they rub off on me and help me to be more of all of these things and I say thank you to all the super women in my life. I have learned something from each of you and I love you dearly!

That is my sappy, happy thought for today!

Ally Bob

My husband...

What is his name? Alexander George White

How long have you been together? 11 years

Who eats more? Hopefully him.

Who said I love you first? I don't really remember, but I gonna say him because it sounds like something he would do.

Who is taller? That is a very funny question. Him, but only by about a foot and a half! In our wedding anouncement photo, we were in a river bed and I stood on a rock. It was a big hit!

Who sings better? It would probably be a tie for not so good.

Who is smarter? Alex is definitely smarter than me... in book smarts, I've got the common sense though. Which makes us good together!

Whose temper is worse? I would say his, but I'm sure he would say mine, so its a tie again!

Who does the laundry? Me, me, me, oh and me. However, he bought me the most wonderful front loading washer and dryer earlier this year and now laundry and I are amicable instead of mortal enemies!

Who pays the bills? Mostly me.

Who mows the lawn? Alex. I will not do it. Ever, luckily we have three boys to pass that chore onto someday. Hayden helps out now with his mower.

Who cooks dinner? Me, unless its on the BBQ or takeout.

Who is more stubborn? Alex.

Who asked whom out? Alex pursued me. (I thought he was too old)

Who kissed whom first? Alex kissed me, I remember it perfectly.

Who wears the pants in the family? Depends on my mood, I think we take turns and we are both more adament about different things.

If you are reading this, TAG you're it! Have fun. By the way I can't spell without my spell check anymore.

Mondays

I love Mondays and I hate Mondays! I love that my kids go back to school and Alex goes to work and the little ones and I have the house back to ourselves. I can get the house clean again (even if it won't stay that way) and it's like we have a fresh start. I hate Mondays because I have to wake up early again and it is always so much harder on Monday than any other day of the week!

Birth-week in Reveiw

Tracie said she thinks birthdays should be birth-weeks, well I think it is that way at my house. We always have a little dinner and cake and presents from Mom and Dad "party" on the kids birthdays and then a party with their friends on the weekend before or after their birthday. Plus I had to take cupcakes to his class, so it really felt like his birthday lasted all week.

In this picture of Kendall, there were cake crumbs on the floor so she crawled under the table to get them, but she had her binki in her mouth so she just smooshed them all over her face! She has the right concept though!

On Wednesday, Jordan got his Wolf badge at cub scouts. I am very proud of him (and us, we are usually such slackers)!

At Jordan's friends party we made banana splits and played in the backyard. It was a fun party for them and not so bad for me! Ha ha.
